METROM
In 1923 a Romanian-Austrian company called Farola was founded in Brasov, which manufactured copper wire, sheets and cables for railway engines. In 1935, Metrom SAS - the first metallurgical factory in Romania - was founded. A few years later, in 1948, FAROLA and METROM SAR were reunited under a new name - METROM Brasov factory.
Since 2000, SC Metrom SA is a subsidiary of the National Company ROMARM.
METROM S.A. is the only producer in Romania of copper sheet, copper tape and brass tape as civil products. Military products made of copper are ammunition components for armament, thimble type for small infantry ammunition, discs and plates for artillery ammunition.
